Aldi unveils create-your-own Cuthbert kits

The supermarket has launched Cuthbert Cake moulds to allow customers to recreate the infamous Cuthbert the Caterpillar cake at home.

The moulds are part of Aldi’s affordable new Home Baker range, which also includes essentials such as bowls, jugs, electric mixers and aprons.

The Cuthbert Cake Kit retails at £4.99, and includes two trays with moulds for Cuthbert’s face, feet, crown and wings.

Aldi’s Classic Stand Mixer has also made a comeback, featuring eight speeds and pulse function, the mixer is available in pink, cream and green, and also features a flat-beater, non-stick whisk, dough hook and splash guard.

Other essentials in the range include a Glass Mixing Bowl Set for £6.99; 3-Pack Measuring Jugs at £2.99 and a selection of Baking Utensils for £1.99 each, including spoons, turners, whisks, pastry brushes and rolling pins.

The Silicone Baking Moulds are available in a range of designs, including cupcake, mini load, and cake pop. Silicone baking sheets with reinforced fibre glass are also available, while little ones can get involved with the Kids Beginners Baking Set, including rolling pin, spatula, whisk and piping bag and nozzle.
