Bira celebrates Independents’ Day

The British Independent Retailers Association (Bira) is supporting this weekend’s Independents’ Day UK with a special membership offer.

The association (which represents cookshops and housewares stockists) is offering three-months’ free membership to retailers who sign up between July 2 and 5, to coincide with Independents’ Day UK this Saturday and Sunday (July 3-4).

Running across the whole weekend, this year’s Independents’ Day UK, in partnership with Local Rewards, is expected to be bigger than ever, with consumers keen to fuel the ‘shop local’ trend. The aim of Independents’ Day UK is to drive footfall to local high streets, and encourage shoppers to support indies.

Bira ceo Andrew Goodacre comments: “This year is probably the most important year for indie retail, as businesses look to rebuild following the pandemic” He added: “We are supporting Independents’ Day UK by offering retailers the opportunity to join us for free and take advantage of our fantastic range of benefits.”

Independent cookshops and housewares stockists new to Bira can take advantage of the free membership offer using the promo code INDIEDAY on the join page of the website
