Deal or no deal advice from BHETA

As UK/EU trade talks continue into ‘extra extra time,’ business service provider, Strong & Herd LLP has provided guidance to housewares members that export and import in a webinar hosted by BHETA (British Home Enhancement Trade Association). Strong & Herd is a leading expert in all aspects of international trade.

The webinar considered the implications for all possible outcomes – whether a deal is reached, or if there is no deal – and the need for customs declarations at all points following the possible end to ‘free’ circulation.  This could change the definition of export – and conversely import – from anything leaving / entering the European Union to anything leaving / entering UK shores including Northern Ireland.

Strong & Herd supplied an illuminating summary of the practical, legislative and taxation implications of possible scenarios and the need to be prepared.  This included in depth guidance on Incoterms plus the cost implications for the relevant parties.  Further advice can be found via www.strongandherd.co.uk.

BHETA’s marketing manager, Steve Richardson commented, “This was an informative session, which will have been of immense help to BHETA members dealing with import or export.  The fact is we will not know actual implications until the last possible moment, so awareness and preparation is all.”
