Dexam is supporting UKHarvest with kitchenware such as spatulas, wooden spoons, timers and measuring cups. As well as distributing collecting surplus food and distributing it to those that need it, UKHarvest also runs educational programmes.
Dexam’s wheatgrass measuring cups are being used as part of a six week cooking programme. UKHarvest’s programmes help children and families learn to create healthy, balanced meals from fresh ingredients, including seasonal, surplus rescued produce.
UK Harvest states that ‘Education is central to our vision and is the most important factor to help end food insecurity and food waste simultaneously’.
The charity is currently ‘frantically dispatching as much fresh food as possible to the schools across the South Coast to support those who really need it.’
