Two fine members of the Housewares retail community are running in separate challenges to raise money for the same cause; Prostate Cancer UK.
Richard Poulson, kitchenware buyer for Morleys Stores is running the Mont Saint-Michel Marathon in France on Sunday 26th May 2019. Richard will cover over 26 miles across beautiful rolling scenery, on a course famed for being able to see the finish line from the start line, the Bay of Mont Saint-Michel between Cancale and Mont Saint-Michel – a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Also taking on a huge challenge is Bira South Devon branch member in Brixham, Simon James. Over the weekend of Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th May, members of Torbay Lifeboat crew including Simon will be undertaking a demanding endurance challenge, running a total of 500 miles during a non-stop 24-hour period. All those taking part are over 40, some over 50 (and a few not far from 60!).
The team are tackling this challenge to raise funds and awareness for Prostate Cancer UK, and in memory of crew mate Steve Lunn, Steve had to step down from the crew due to the disease in April 2009 and sadly lost the battle the following year.
Crew member Simon James has agreed to run 36 miles during this event, and for someone who has never run before, its proving to be quite a challenge. You can sponsor Simon HERE.
