At Lifetime Brands Europe, we love cooking and dining and our products form an essential part of that. As part of our big plans for 2022, we are looking for a talented Buyer & Product Developer, with a strong brand development background to join our team to develop consumer kitchen and homewares brands across Global Markets

You will be responsible for creatively and commercially developing a number of international brands involving market analysis, consumer insight, design, sourcing and packaging development. This includes facilitating new product launches in addition to optimising current SKU’s and product portfolio management working with our designers, marketers and suppliers to deliver and manage this.

What does the role involve?

  • Build brand recognition through strong NPD & innovation ensuring brands are consistent in their design language
  • Work with and manage critical paths and key dates
  • Continually review new product performance, overall sales and brand performance and a commercial international trading plan in order to facilitate future NPD
  • Manage range and range build with a clear projection of brand development over time
  • Undertake meaningful international market analysis and product development research to garner new product selection and uptake
  • Utilise and commission consumer insight and trend reporting to drive future consumer orientated range selection and design
  • Direct factory / source liaison to develop your product ranges from concept through to delivery at the right price point and quality standard
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with suppliers
  • Briefing designers on new concepts and ranges based on current and future trends
  • Category management of existing ranges
  • You will be flexible and willing to travel around the UK, Europe, Far East and other international countries


To be considered for this role we are ideally looking for the following skills and experience:

  • A strong brand focus working on building and developing consumer, ideally FMCG or consumer durable brands
  • Currently working at a Buyer Level with a minimum of 5 years’ experience
  • Experience in Far East & European sourcing and negotiating with suppliers
  • An excellent communicatory with the ability to build relationships at all levels
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to plan and organise your workload effectively
  • Proficient user of software and technology, from file transfer and data management to MS office tools such as Word and PowerPoint (or Google Docs equivalent).
  • Ideally advanced in Excel skills e.g. VLookup and Illustrator / Photoshop skills
  • A keen eye for product, a creative mind-set, coupled with a commercial instinct and drive
  • Awareness and knowledge of sustainable materials and legislative changes
  • Self-Motivated
  • Product development knowledge
  • Range build and category management skill set
  • Buying process knowledge
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proactive, able to plan, prioritise and manage own workload
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills – will need to liaise extensively with China

This is a hybrid role; 3 days at HQ in Birmingham and 2 days remote working.
