POSITION: Sales – Territory Account Manager – North Region

REPORTING TO :  Sales Manager


To work within the Sales team, managing a specified area in the North of England. The company is an importer of mats, basket ware, cleaning utensils and other homeware products. We have a large independent and retailer customer base. The position will involve managing and growing /existing accounts, plus seeking out new business opportunities. One of the key attributes we are looking for is someone who is able to look for new business areas on the fringe or outside of our regular account base. The ideal candidate will be located around the M62 corridor.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious hardworking individual looking to develop a geographical region. You would be joining an experienced team, so we are looking for someone who has the ability to hit the ground running. The individual will need to be self-driven, reliable and conscientious. As the customer facing representative of the company you will need to be smart,  personable and be able to work with customers to maximise the sales opportunity. You must understand margin requirements and be familiar with achieving budgets and sales targets.

Main Purpose and Scope of the Job

  • Managing a portfolio of existing customers, identifying new commercial opportunities and maximising these to increase gross profit/margin
  • Building strong relationships with customers, understanding their business strategy thereby ensuring JVL is their homeware supplier of choice
  • Agreement and achievement of gross profit target per customer and annual targets with JVL management
  • Resolving any customer issues that may arise



  • Be an experienced account manager with proven experience of sales delivery in a results-focused environment, preferably within the homewares sector but not essential
  • Have strong experience in product sales (min 3 years) with a proven track record in delivery against KPIs
  • Ability to grow your customers product range, to upsell/cross sell and improve gross profit with each customer
  • Can demonstrate good experience in developing and maintaining customer relationships
  • Have a charismatic and can-do attitude, can bring solutions and contribute ideas
  • Be on top of your game, product knowledge is key for both own brand and competitors
  • Work well as part of a team, in conjunction with telesales, managing existing customers to provide a smooth end to end experience and potential prospects in your area
  • Utilise our in-house systems to maximise your day
  • Be an organised and proactive individual, plan productive days to get the best out of your time
  • Produce and submit daily, weekly monthly reports when applicable


Person Specification  & Qualifications

  • Sales experience in retail/ independent markets
  • Proven track record of sales
  • A team player
  • Ability to work alone
  • Strong organisational skills required
  • Good communication skills
  • Good IT skills
  • Having existing good contacts in the homeware area would be an advantage
