RKW’s Rob Sutton talks about UK economy on BBC news

RKW’s managing director Rob Sutton was the focus of a BBC news feature reporting on shortages in the UK labour market and the pressures on businesses this week. The Stoke-based company was selected by the BBC as a leading distributor of small electricals which is seeing high demand as consumers increasingly want energy saving appliances.

“We’re having to review our wage cost on a monthly basis,” stated Rob in the interview, confirming that the company’s costs are going up, including energy, wages and insurance. “Everything is going up and nothing is coming down.”

Rob described the climate for businesses as “really difficult,” admitting that: “It is the worst time I’ve seen since the 30 years I started the business.”
