Sainsbury announces Argos reorganisation

Sainsbury’s has announced a reorganisation, which will see the closure of 60-70 standalone Argos stores. However, Argos’ wide range of housewares could reach a wider consumer audience as around 80 new Argos outlets will be integrated into Sainsbury’s branches, providing a convenient collection point for shopper while complimenting Sainsbury’s own Home ranges.

The grocer is also closing 10-15 of its supermarkets, but due to open around 10 new stores.

Sainsbury’s reported that its General Merchandise sales declined by 2% in its second quarter trading figures.
