Walmart’s upmarket homewares

A new range called MoDRN marks a new direction for US general merchandise giant Walmart. The range features nearly 650 high-quality, design-led products for every room in the home, including the kitchen and dining room.

MoDRN is split into three collections: Retro Glam, Refined Industrial and Scandinavian Minimal. These feature high-end materials while maintaining an accessible price point (for example $20 to $60 for barware). The collection is exclusive to Walmart’s ecommerce site.

The retailer states that it has seen an increase of almost35% in visits to its website’s home destination over the past year, with the majority of customers spending more time browsing on the site. It emphasises that MoDRN has been ‘created for customers who embrace a modern aesthetic.’
