Potters’ Christmas cheer

Potters Cookshop, Hockley has been spreading festive cheer with its Narnia-themed Christmas windows, complete with snow machines. Shoppers are making a beeline to see the windows, which include versions of the Lion and the Witch from the classic children’s book.

Daily activities at the shop in the run-up to Christmas have included demonstrations on making easy treats such Limoncello Truffles and Christmas cookies. Reflecting positive customer feedback, Christmas trade at Potters Cookshop was up 18-20% at the end of November and early December.

The shop’s Christmas windows are the culmination of a year’s planning, with props sourced from eBay or especially made by the Potters’ team and visual merchandiser, Alison Hobbs. Potters’ director, Tom Carter points out that the windows do not necessarily contain products but are more about “giving something back to the community.” Alison is already planning for Potters’ Christmas 2019 windows.
