Wrap artists

Recent shows have been a platform for suppliers of re-usable food wraps, which provide alternatives to clingfilm. Bee Bee Wraps (exhibiting at the Spring Fair) is among those noticing increasing demand from consumers.

Bee Bee Wraps started as a home enterprise creating products for family members before starting to sell via ETSY. Demand escalated when The Guardian newspaper mentioned Bee Bee in an article about cutting out single-use plastic. The company creates its own designs, takes on bespoke commissions and produced the celebrity designs for Sky’s #PassOnPlastic range. The company has now mechanised production so it can produce on a much larger scale.

“A lot of eco products aren’t pretty but they can be!’ states BeeBee’s Rachel Karnmiely, when launching new designs at the recent Spring Fair.

Other wrap companies at Spring Fair included Bumble Wraps and Hive to Home as well as Eddingtons, which continues to see strong sales of its Bees Wrap,

Earlier this year, Top Drawer exhibitors included Vegan Food Wraps. The vegan friendly products are made from sunflower wax, sumac wax, rice bran wax, oils and pine resin.
