Smidge’s beach clean

Smidge – the new brand created with the intention of tackling single-use plastic along with being colourful and fun – is joining forces with its partner charity, the Marine Conservation Society for a beach clean today (June 25).

The Bristol based brand (from Horwood) will close its offices for the day to enable over 50 staff members to take part in an activity that fits with the Smidge ethos of protecting the environment. The team will hear insights from the MCS on the environmental impact of single-use plastic, pick up pieces of plastic from the beach and count them. The clean up also celebrates Smidge’s launch.

“Single-use plastic has an undeniably negative impact on our environment and sea life, where if widespread use continues, there is expected to be more plastic in the ocean than fish by 2050,” notes Smidge’s sales director, Rob Jones. “At Smidge, we’re committed to doing our bit and trying to reduce single-use plastic with a range of product lines all of which are reusable.”
