Remember the Rainy Day Trust this Christmas

The Rainy Day Trust’s ceo Bryan Clover is asking for housewares companies to “be Christmas Charity Champions and donate a proportion of what they would usually spend on a Christmas party” to raise much needed funds “so we can keep providing the vital help that people need.” Bryan confirms: “Covid-19 has affected our sector enormously and we need every penny to keep our support programmes running.”

Individuals and businesses can make their festive donation via uk.virginmoneygiving.com/RDTXmas2020

Meanwhile, BHETA has extended its collective sponsored walk (or run) in aid of The Rainy Day Trust. The Association doubled its target to over 1000 miles by Christmas, having already achieved the original goal of 509 miles.  Membership services manager, Nicola Adams who is organising the trek explained, “The original idea was to cover 509 miles, that being the distance between BHETA’s most northerly member, housewares manufacturer, Aydya based in Dundee and the most southerly, heating and plumbing supplier, Select Products based in Torbay.  But as we have already completed the ‘trip’ between Aydya and Select with three weeks to go until the deadline, we thought we should turn around and complete a return journey!”

With 500 or so miles added on, each member of the BHETA team will individually complete as many miles as they can ahead of Christmas, recording the distances achieved until the round-trip total is achieved.

The BHETA 1000 Mile Walk team comprises Nicola Adams, Helen Farnell and Zia Miah from BHETA member services, marketing manager, Steve Richardson, chief operating officer, Will Jones, executive chairman, Andrew Weiss, finance director, Clare Holland, Seema Grantham, housewares sector manager and Keeley Vernon, DIY sector manager.

Companies or individuals who would like to sponsor the BHETA team should contact Nicola Adams on na@bheta.co.uk or 07946 078566.  Or go to the Just Giving page HERE.
