Homebase extends Macmillan partnership

Homebase has extended its partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support for a further three years, with a new aim of working together to provide home-related grants. Macmillan’s home grants can be used to cover the purchase of electricals appliances such as kettles, toasters, microwaves and washing machines – products that can improve day to day living for those affected by cancer.

In addition to in-store fundraising, including taking part in World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, Homebase will make it easier for customers to donate through QR codes and at till points. Special product promotions will also be rolled out to raise money for the charity, and Homebase’s teams will take part in themed Macmillan activities and challenges.

Claire Abercrombie, Homebase director of customer and communications, said: “Our team voted to work with Macmillan and have done an excellent job over the last two years raising money to help support its services in communities across the UK. By making a longer-term commitment to our partnership we can focus our support on home-related grants and help those living with cancer feel safe and comfortable in their homes.”

Since joining forces with Macmillan in 2019, Homebase has raised over £100,000 to fund hundreds of nursing hours in local communities.
