Dexam has started the new year with a new look warehouse, having completed a mammoth reorganisation since Christmas. The leading housewares supplier’s entire warehouse was re-racked and re-configured to ‘future proof’ storage requirements and improve logistical capacity.
The project was due to take place over 13 days but thanks to the hard work of Dexam’s warehouse team, it was completed two days ahead of schedule. Along with greater storage capacity, the new layout will provide extensive pick face capacity, speedier bay fill and order fulfilment and faster and more effective customer despatch.
“We decided to re-rack the warehouse over the Christmas and New Year period to keep the disruption to our great service to an absolute minimum,” reports Tom Roberts, Dexam’s operations manager in charge of the warehouse. “It was certainly a challenge and wouldn’t have been possible without the fantastic hard work of the warehouse team. There is some fine-tuning of pick bays and pallet locations but that can happen over the coming weeks and months.”
Tom adds: “I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved and it’s a brilliant start to 2022!”
