Goodbye to the loo brush?

The Shiffter – a new product idea for cleaning toilets – has received a UK patent. Its creator Kam Mistry claims it will revolutionise the chore and dispose of the need for the conventional toilet brush. Moreover Kam says the Shiffter – a hand-held jet wash – will save water as it avoids repeat flushing for cleaning purposes, as well as avoiding plastic in disposable toilet brushes, and chemicals in toilet cleaners.

“Toilet brushes have been around for decades and using them is universally regarded as an unpleasant experience,” states Kam. “The Shiffter changes all of that as you simply jet wash the bowl clean after you get up from the seat.” He adds: “As it’s used straight after you go, it does away with need to put on the rubber gloves and scrub with a toilet brush for the weekly clean.”

Kam now aims to raise investment to manufacture the Shiffter, claiming market interest with over 5,600 visits to his website over the past twelve months and “10 times as many searches from people putting terms such as ‘alternative to the toilet brush’ into Google – and that’s for a product that does not yet exist!”
