ProCook employees join canal clean up

Volunteers from kitchenware retailer ProCook teamed up with Life’s a Beach charity, and Printwaste to clear waste from the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal on Tuesday (May 17). Walking along the towpath, as well as canoeing and paddle boarding in the canal itself, the teams collected 15kg of waste from the canal.

Life’s a Beach, the charity set up by ProCook’s founder and ceo Daniel O’Neill, supports the eradication of single use plastics from British beaches and waterways, aims to educate younger generations about plastic pollution through school outreach, and promotes the use of reusable products.

‘Collecting 15kg of waste is an amazing achievement for our first canal clean up,” states Life’s a Beach events and engagement co-ordinator Sophie Chappell. “In making our waterways cleaner, more people can enjoy the canal and local biodiversity can continue to thrive. We hope to collaborate with ProCook on future clean up events to ensure our canals, rivers and oceans are freer of plastic pollution.’
