Potters gets set for Jubilee

Potters Cookshop in Hockley is preparing for a community extravaganza on June 2 to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, offering customers cream teas in the store and providing space outside for pop-up stalls.

The pop-up stalls are free for young people and small start-up businesses in the local area. They include teenage bakers and crafters, who are selling crochet products, jewellery and coasters, as well as a BBQ smoked meat producer.

The cookshop’s interior is being transformed with red, white and blue decorations and its large windows will have garden and tea party themes. There will also be a window telling the story of Queen Elizabeth II’s 70-year reign through iconic housewares. These include the British-made Tala Dry Measure, the Kenwood Chef and the Sodastream, which is apparently used in Buckingham Palace.
