Dexam launches Recycled Cotton range

The new textiles collection, launching this month to tie in with Water Saving Week from 15-19 May, uses recycled cotton.

This year, Water Saving Week focuses on spreading awareness of issues around water, such as the increased stress on resources resulting from climate change and our habits. Dexam’s recycled cotton range uses cotton that has been sourced from offcuts which would have otherwise gone to landfill, reducing the water footprint associated with the growing and harvesting of virgin cotton.

The range is available in two colourways featuring a woven striped pattern in an adult apron, gauntlet, double oven gloves and set of two tea towels. All made from 60% recycled cotton. The double over gloves and gauntlets also have a 100% recycled polyester lining.

Due to the nature of recycled cotton, there may be a slight variation in colour between items, however this acts as a lasting reminder to the customer of their one-of-a-kind purchase.

Helen Boardman, Dexam’s product manager, commented: “We only partner with suppliers who can demonstrate compliance with the Dexam Code of Practice. This requires prospective and existing suppliers to evaluate their performance against the requirements of our code which assess the manufacture of products and the reduction of energy and water during production, use of recyclable packaging and ensuring supply chains are free from modern slavery.

“Our Recycled Cotton textiles range is a beautiful example of our commitment to act as sustainably as possible within our environment and we hope will raise awareness on the importance of reducing our water and carbon footprint.”
