BHETA wins Website of the Year

The British Home Enhancement Trade Association (BHETA) has won the Website of the Year award at the Trade Association Forum’s (TAF) Best Practice Awards 2019.  The annual event (now in its seventeenth year) is formally supported by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy and took place in London’s County Hall last week (July 9).

The BHETA website (www.bheta.co.uk) was launched in February 2018 and reflects the association’s growing status as the industry conduit between suppliers and retailers. It combines input from industry experts, the BHETA executive team and the BHETA Board.

The site’s objectives are to deliver a credible hub of industry information utilising a modern, stylish, user-friendly interface, compatible with desktop, tablet and mobile devices. It serves as a research resource for the retail sector and members’ customers, raises the profile of the services and business support available to members and encourages new membership and member retention.

The user-friendly site features high quality imagery, including housewares product shots, industry updates, as well as BHETA initiatives, an events calendar and support services.

A key feature of the website is the BHETA ‘Retailer Zone’, which enables buyers to find suppliers, products and brands, and offers retailers the opportunity to engage with BHETA via its forums and ‘Meet the Buyer’ days.

By working with research company GfK, BHETA supplies all members with quarterly updated POS data.  A ‘look-up’ function on the ‘Retailer Zone’ enables members and visitors to find out GfK category definitions.

BHETA’s chief operating officer, Will Jones said, “The website represents real value for money in that it allows our members access to all the latest initiatives and offers them an ideal marketing platform for their products and brands. It also assists the BHETA team in attracting new members to the association.

“Receiving a Best Practice Award is not only about the kudos of being an award-winning organisation, but it recognises just how much the BHETA website reflects the needs and aspirations of the BHETA membership from service provision to lobbying to dynamic real time contact with targeted retailers.  This is fantastic news for BHETA and for everyone involved with creating, evolving and maintaining www.bheta.co.uk as the vibrant communications hub that it is.”
