Independent cookshops and housewares retailers from all around the UK are urged to make their voices heard by filling out the Retail Barometer, reflecting on 2020 and looking ahead. The 16th annual Retail Barometer will provide unique insights into how the pandemic year has impacted on our sector.
Addressing the UK’s independent cookshops and housewares retailers, PH editor Jo Howard says: “This is the only annual survey that looks at the trials, tribulations and triumphs of independent cookshops and housewares sectors; this year’s will be particularly significant, reflecting on an exceptional and extraordinary year.”
She continues: “Months of enforced closure, consumers’ shift to online shopping, and the rise of home cooking have all influenced 2020. The Retail Barometer aims to get a full and real picture on how all this has affected independent cookshops and housewares stockists.”
Indies are asked to fill out the online survey by clicking HERE.
The deadline for responses is Saturday March 20.
Questions reflect on experiences of 2020 and lockdowns, as well as future expectations.
Independents that sell other goods are asked to focus on the housewares sector of their business.
All responses are confidential, and the survey can be stopped and re-started providing the same device is used. However, all responses are final and cannot be changed once the ‘done’ button has been clicked.
As a thank you to those participating, three lucky retailers will be drawn at random to win a special prize of £25 worth of Marks & Spencer vouchers.
The collective findings will appear in the March/April issue of Progressive Housewares magazine.
