Following the recent news concerning Steamer Trading, ceo of The Rainy Day Trust, Bryan Clover has realised a statement to remind the housewares industry “what the Rainy Day Trust can offer when a business goes into administration that results in store closures and potential job losses.”
Bryan elaborates: “While we are always able to help affected staff members with direct financial assistance, we can also help them in other ways. Our training support can help with new courses to re-skill or up-skill. We can pay for CV writing advice as well as advice on housing debt or other legal issues if needed. But what we do isn’t just targeted at staff members. Businesses too can benefit as we can work with them in the early days of a re-structure, allowing the company to support staff more effectively. By getting us engaged earlier, we can save companies money and energy. “
In conclusion, Byran emphasises: “Importantly, we have an emergency grant programme that can respond very quickly if someone is made redundant unexpectedly. It can be a stressful time and our free counselling service can take away a lot of the worry. We are your charity, so use us.”
