Housewares companies are invited to sponsor The Rainy Day Trust ceo Bryan Clover as he hikes from Bristol to London non-stop in 48 hours next month.
Between September 17-18, Bryan plans to walk 84 miles alone, with “no sleep, no naps, nothing.” Carrying a huge amount of water, Bryan’s pack will weigh over 40lbs. His only stops will be to top up his water, and to take photos with companies sponsoring the hike.
Bryan explains: “Before the delightful virus, in 2018 I hiked 27 miles a day for a week along the cliff paths of Cornwall and in 2019 I hiked 53.4 miles in 24 hours, so I decided to up the proverbial ante! #84in48.”
He continues: “We would like major sponsors from all four of our main sectors – builders’ merchants and suppliers, DIY, housewares and garden centres. Training has begun and we will get your brand in the public eye as training gets going.” So far, Dulux is on board for the DIY sector.
Hoping that this will be The Rainy Day Trust’s most significant fundraising event of 2021, Bryan comments: “This is the single biggest challenge that I have ever undertaken and will test me to my core. If you want to be part of it, even if only to watch me fall in the canal, drop me an email at bryan@rainydaytrust.org.uk to discuss sponsorship.”
