Donate your commute

As The Rainy Day Trust’s finances come under strain as demand for help increases and donations fall, ceo Bryan Clover is asking members of the housewares industry that are not working from home to “donate the saving in one day’s commuting costs to the Rainy Day Trust.” He adds: “We understand fully that your focus is on your business, but we need every penny to help the people that work alongside you.”

While appealing for support from companies and individuals in the industry ‘”family,” Bryan also reflects on the charity’s unique position to help the housewares industry in these exceptional times. He states: “The Rainy Day Trust has been at the centre of supporting vulnerable people in the home improvement industries for over 175 years and have the mechanisms in place to continue that vital work.  Our mode of operation lends well itself to supporting people quickly and easily.  We are experienced at providing immediate help, and adapting to rapidly changing conditions.  We are your charity, supporting your people.”
