The Rainy Day Trust launches Mad March Million 2024

Industry charity, The Rainy Day Trust, is challenging teams to take on the challenge of taking one million steps in March.

For Mad March Million, teams of three or four aim to take a million steps between them in the month of March. You can run, jog, or just walk, but the important part is getting out and active every day.

It’s been proven that any activity which involves bilateral movement – using both sides of the brain to coordinate activity – helps you to process the stresses of the day. Being outside in the fresh air is also good for you. So taking part in the Mad March Challenge helps combat mental health challenges, while also supporting a worthy cause.

Perhaps your company can get several teams together and create a bit of healthy competition. Set up a sponsorship page on Just Giving and The Rainy Day Trust promises to use the money you raise to support those having a tough time.

This year, RDT will send each participant a T shirt to show you are doing your bit to beat mental health challenges, and supporting your industry charity. There’s a £12 per head registration fee.

To register your teams, simply emailinfo@rainydaytrust.org.uk and get fundraising. There’s a bottle of champagne on offer when teams pass £1,000 in sponsorship, and for every £1,000 thereafter, and trays of brownies and other cakey delights for the team which manages the highest average number of steps taken.
