Housewares retailers celebrate King Charles III

Coronation windows, events and competitions have been in abundance in the run up to this weekend’s royal celebrations.

Potters Cookshop in Hockley is preparing for a special Coronation event on Saturday 6 May. The celebrations will include stalls outside the store, special offers inside, and complementary tea and coffee for visitors.

Other housewares retailers have been marking the occasion with eye catching window displays of memorabilia, including Hargreaves of Buxton with its red, white and blue spring garden theme, featuring the bunting used at the last coronation 70 years ago.

Gliddons Cook’s Corner Cookshop in Sidmouth has struggled to get enough mugs to meet demand.

Cornucopia in Worcester has coronation stock aplenty and even has a special Coronation window artwork to celebrate as part of Worcester’s window art installation across a range of shops in the town.

Abraxas has installed royally impressive displays in the windows of all of its stores, including Northampton, Heart of the Shires, Banbury and Rugby.

Dinghams‘ Salisbury store has an impressive Coronation offering from table decorations to specially selected cake baking decorations, housewares and more.

While Jill’s Cookshop in Hoylake is ready for the weekend’s events, but has almost sold out of Coronation products, with only a few Union Flag options left.

Fortnum and Mason has used the Peacock from its Coronation design to create a showstopping artwork at the front of its Picadilly store, along with impressive window displays throughout.

Others have used the occasion as an excuse for a good old competition. Brambles Cookshop is offering the iconic Emma Bridgewater King and Queen half pint mugs as a prize on social media.
