Hobbs’ Excellence in Housewares Award is attracting new customers

An article in The Cornishman newspaper reporting Hobbs the Kitchen Shop’s position in the finals of The Excellence in Housewares Awards has raised the profile of the shop, bringing in a wave of new customers. The newspaper is planning another article now that Hobbs has won the award for its Plastic Free Penzance initiative. On winning the Award, Hobbs thanked its suppliers for their support in its efforts to go ‘plastic free’. Penny reflects: “Since Hobbs committed to reducing single-use plastic in the shop and in our deliveries, the support that we have had from the industry has been amazing.” She adds that customers are backing the shop too and are “spending more with us.”

Penny wrote about the Hobbs’s journey towards gaining its Plastic Free Penzance certification in Progressive Housewares’ August issue. She acknowledges:“We all know that the world will not be changed overnight but Rachel Yates at Plastic Free Penzance summed it up when she said “Anythingthat we cando is better than doing nothing and hopefully together we can bring about positive change, empowering individuals and communities to take action which benefits the world we live in – not just environmentally but socially and economically too.””

The Excellence in Retail Initiative Award is sponsored by DKB.
