Dexam is marking the national event from 4 – 10 March, with a price cut on its Rushbrookes Butchers Stripe textiles.
National Butchers’ Week shines a spotlight on the skills, tradition and importance of local butchers in our communities. For a limited time, Dexam is offering 20% off trade price across the Rushcbrookes Butchers Stripe textile range in recognition of the week.
Made in the UK since 1837, originally for the butchers of Smithfield Markey in London, the Rushbrookes Butchers Stripe is now the choice of professional and amateur cooks around the world.
The pattern is formed using the traditional ‘discharge’ technique to gain the brightest white stripes with sharp, clean edges. Available in four colours – navy, racing green, red and slate grey – the range consists of long and medium sized aprons, double oven gloves, gauntlets, pot grabs and hob covers.
Dexam’s promotion is valid from now until 10 March, 2024, and should enable retailers time to stock up in time to celebrate with their customers.
Bryony Dyer, Dexam’s managing director, commented: “Aprons have been used to distinguish between specific trades for hundreds of years – none more so than the British butcher’s striped apron. Dating back to the 16th century, the striped apron didn’t just carve out the identity of the butcher, it also represented their expertise and standing.
“Our Butchers Stripe range is made with pride in the UK under the Rushbrookes brand. This popular brand has been operating for over 100 years and has an extensive history. It therefore makes sense for us to celebrate this heritage and we hope with our promotion that retailers will also do the same.”
